Verbena X 'Pinwheel Princess'

Verbena X 'Pinwheel Princess'

Verbena x hybrida ‘Pinwheel Princess’

Common Name: Pinwheel Princess Verbena

Habit: 2’ x 3-4’

Flowers: Clusters of tiny flowers shower low growing plants.  Each individual flower in the clusters are light lavender with white stripes down each petal. Look closely! As with all verbenas,  Pinhweel Princess offers the best show in spring and fall with a few flowers in the summer.

Foliage: Healthy green foliage easily spreads to 4’.

Exposure: Full sun, well-drained soils.

Water:  Infrequent irrigation may be necessary in hot weather.  Verbena don’t like to sit around while wet. Make sure soils drains well.

Uses:  Borders, bedding, butterfly gardens, cut flowers, and containers.

Note:  Pinwheel Princess appreciates a little haircut now and then.  When inflorescence begins to dissipate, light shear plants with hedge clippers.  This will encourage more flower displays and healthier foliage going into summer.  Verbena resents hard shearing, so light and frequent haircuts are the best.
